Ableton has announced a new set of free tools included with Live 10 Suite called Probability Pack. Developed by Sonic Faction, this pack includes five step sequencers that allow you to add controlled randomization to your music-creating and performance process.
Ableton Push users will especially love the new devices in Probability Pack, as they were specifically designed for hands-on use with this instrument. Each sequencer has a unique way of adding subtle or extreme randomization to patterns for unpredictable outcomes. Use these sequencers to generate new ideas, create variations of existing patterns, create new musical textures, or combine them all to create complete chaos.
Also included in this pack are 60 Ableton synth presets, Instrument Racks, and settings specifically designed for the sequencers. Check out the five sequencers included in Probability Pack below:
A monophonic step sequencer made for melodies. Set the probability of the event, pitch and octave of each step.
A polyphonic sequencer made for rhythms. Set the probability of the velocity, length, and event of each step.
An arpeggiator with a built-in chord generator. Set the probability for rate, note direction (style), length and octave.
A polyphonic sequencer where each step can be divided into any number of smaller subdivisions for glitchy and chaotic results.
A neural network that strings together notes and generates melodies in unpredictable ways.
Watch the new sequencers in action in the video up top. Probability Pack is now included with Live 10 Suite. Owners of Live 10 Suite or Live 10 Standard and Max for Live can download Probability Pack from the Packs section in the Live 10 browser.
