BPM Sounds and Serato Studio have teamed up to produce a brand new video series all about creating your own custom DJ edits. In this 4-part series, “Creating a DJ Edit in Serato Studio,” you’ll get an introduction to Serato Studio, as well as a step-by-step guide on making creative DJ edits using the software.
Part 1 focuses on editing a track with cue points and exporting. Our sound design expert and director of BPM Sounds Mike Acosta takes us through turning a radio version of a track into a DJ-ready edit with a drum section intro that’s more suitable for mixing. Watch the full video above.
Serato Studio is a great resource for both DJs and producers who want to get into making DJ edits and remixes, as well as producing brand new beats from scratch. There is a free version of the software available to get you started, or a complete version that unlocks more advanced features.
Right now, you can get two months of Serato Studio for only $2!
