The biggest news about version 1.4.4 is that there is now a completely free version available that allows you to create, save, and export projects. You can easily load in an acapella or a full track to Serato Studio to chop up, make a mashup, or create a quick intro edit for your next livestream DJ set.
The free version has some limited features but includes most of the same functionality as the full version of Serato Studio. This includes four Decks, four Scenes, one Audio Track, MP3-only export, and no Automation. All of the other features in the full version are available for free such as FX, sampling, and instruments.
Also new in Serato Studio 1.4.4 is Auto Chord Mode, a feature that allows you generate chords using only one note, without the need for any music theory knowledge. Simply play one instrument note and instantly generate chords in your project key between two and seven notes. You can even choose to adjust the “Feel” of the chords, which modifies the note timing and velocity of the chord for a more natural, human sound.
