From the creators of the original MASSIVE synth comes MASSIVE X, a virtual synthesizer that’s being called “the stuff of sound designers’ dreams.” Formerly scheduled to release in February 2019, Native Instruments announced that due to the instrument’s complexities, the final product will now arrive in June.

While MASSIVE enthusiasts will have to wait a few more months for its official debut, NI has revealed a bunch of new details to hold you over. Here is an overview from the leading manufacturer’s website:

A new clear and streamlined interface has been designed from the ground up.

Two wavetable oscillators (with two phase modulators) provide the main sound source while three additional oscillators are available.

New routing section offers a freely patchable audio routing matrix and features a new feedback bus, audio rate filter modulation bus, the use of modulators as audio sources, and more.

Create complex, dynamic modulation with ease using an amplitude envelope, plus eight configurable modulators.

Introducing Performers – automation-style modulation sequencers with powerful grid and drawing tools.

Enjoy personalized control with 16 freely assignable macros, pitch-bend, mod wheel, and aftertouch for a total of 19 customized controllers.
