Rob Swift, an original member of the legendary turntablist crew, The X-ecutioners, and innovator in the field of turntablism is back with an exclusive routine for BPM Supreme.
Swift joined the Harlem-based X-ecutioners crew in 1991 and within a year he won the coveted DMC East Coast title. Along with his fellow crew members, Roc Raida, Mista Sinista and Total Eclipse, their goal was to push the boundaries of music using the turntable as their tool.
Check out one of his latest DJ Battles:
Swift is now teaching at The New School in NYC and today announced the launch of his very own DJ battle. The competition entitled, CIVIL WAR: Brolic Army Battle for Supremacy, is exclusively for his students and aims to further cultivate the DJ skills they’ve acquired under Swift’s mentorship.
Contestants will go through various rounds of battle routines and have a chance at winning prizes from Innofader and 12inchSkinz. Swift will also award free lessons for his DJ courses at The New School and BPM Supreme will offer the first prize winner with a one-year membership to our record pool.
