DJ Times Magazine has released the results of their annual fan poll for America’s Best DJ. In first place for 2017 is JAUZ, an LA-based DJ/producer and graduate from Icon Collective Music Production School. Born Sam Vogel, JAUZ is the youngest DJ to take this title at the age of 24.
Since first finding success at age 21, JAUZ has gained support from well-known DJs like Skrillex and Borgore. In 2014, his track “Feel the Volume” released on Mad Decent helped define his edgy, bass-heavy trap/house sound.
“I never thought I would even get to do this for a living, much less be nominated or win an award. The fact that so many of you fans took time out of your day to vote for me means the world and is the reason that I do what I do,” Vogel told DJ Times.
DJ Times Magazine has been running their America’s Best DJ promotion since 2006. Each year the magazine nominates 100 U.S.-based DJs and gives fans the opportunity to vote for the winner online. Along with Weedmaps, DJ Times also hosted a series of summer events in clubs and at festivals with balloting available at each.
