In our continued search to find the best up-and-coming DJs, we present On Deck featuring Dextrous One. You may recognize his name because when he was just six years old, Dextrous One (born Brandan Duke) broke the Guinness World Record for being the Youngest Club DJ. Now at the age of 10, he shows off a skillful and smooth turntable routine for our exclusive video series.
In June of 2013, Dextrous One played for a crowd of 8,000 people at Koolhaus in his hometown of Toronto, making him the youngest performance/club DJ at that time. Until this year, he held onto his record and is already planning his next moves. With help from coaches, Mike Labo and Francis Williams, Dextrous One has his eyes on the next Guinness World Record to break — the Youngest Music Producer.
Along with entering contests like Red Bull’s 3Style Championships, Dextrous One has played prestigious events like the PanAm Games, the World Cup of Hockey and the TV show, Canada’s Smartest Person. He’s on the fast-track to success and it seems there’s no slowing him down.
