Anna Zeltins (She/They) a.k.a. AMZEL is a San Diego-based DJ, as well as an Arts & Culture professional and a partner of HOTBED US, a collective and collaborative platform that focuses on genres such as hardgroove, trance, and Eurodance. 

When Anna is not spinning at various venues in San Diego or warehouse parties anywhere from Los Angeles to Tijuana, she works in contemporary art spaces and museums focusing on community partnerships, specifically between smaller organizations and non-profits.

“I take inspiration and influence from the world around me and the world I grew up in. I was surrounded by the contrast of Flamenco and microtonal music within my family which gave me perspective on varying genres and the way they all connect and the rich history behind music.”

Defying genres to create a journey for listeners.

“My world opened to electronic music at a young age and that’s when I started shaping the way I dig and select music. I never liked being put in a box or labeled one genre or the other. I believe that true connection on the dance floor comes from creating a journey for people and translating my tastes into a new perspective for those who may have never experienced it before.

“This playlist is a mix of everything from pop, house, and techno to dance classics.”

Anna’s favorite place to unwind.

“Pioneer Park right here in San Diego is a great space to unwind and bask in the calmness of the park with the swooshing sound of the freeway nearby (and a great place for a park nap). There is a small cemetery in the park, which adds a serene, respectful, and introspective atmosphere that helps me ground and connect more. I also love Joshua Tree as an out-of-city escape.”

A long-time obsession: Intergalactic FM

“Early on in DJing around 2016, I stumbled on Intergalactic FM. I have a deep love for electro (one of the main genres I focus on), and I have discovered so many amazing artists and records through their streams. I love having it in the background all the time as it’s 24/7. I get inspiration from the station overall.“
