Martin Garrix Takes #1 Spot in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs Poll for 3rd Straight Year
Share

For the third year in a row, Martin Garrix takes the top spot in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs Poll. The 22-year-old Dutch DJ is followed by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike in second place, and Hardwell in third place.

Winners of the 2018 Top 100 DJs Poll were revealed this past weekend at the annual award ceremony during the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). According to DJ Mag, this year’s poll received 1.2 million votes from all over the world with the most votes coming from the USA.

The DJ Mag Top 100 has been criticized over the past few years with many DJs and fans claiming that it’s purely a popularity contest. Some also believe that DJs rank higher in the poll if they put money behind advertisements and promotions that encourage more votes.

A handful of DJs have already voiced their opinions since the results of the 2018 poll were revealed. Our favorite comments come from the master of disguise himself, Marshmello. While the masked DJ came in at #10 on the DJ Mag list, he says he’s definitely #1 for “making people put their hands in the air.” Check out Marshmello’s tweets below – we think he may be onto something:
