Making waves since 2019, Albanian DJ and producer Erd1 (born Erdi Xhemollari) is a rising star with millions of streams on Spotify and trending status on White Label. With a string of infectious electronic, dancehall, Afrobeat, and Latin-infused tracks, we can tell Erd1 has a knack for crafting summer anthems! Read on to learn more about his creative process and what exciting projects he has on the horizon.

Tell us about your artist name and how you got it. 

My brother helped me to find my artist name when I started as a DJ and producer. My real name is Erdi, and my artist name is “Erd1” (pronounced erd one).

Where do you call home? 

Home is in Albania, but for the moment, I’m based in Spain.

How do you describe your musical style? 

Electronic music, such as house, tech house, Latin house, reggaeton, urban Latin, and more.

What first inspired you to get into music?  

It started as a game. When I saw people from all over the world listening to my music, it inspired me. Now I am full-time focused on music.

Is there an artist or person who has inspired you most? 

The first DJs who inspired me were Tiësto and Martin Garrix with the song “The Only Way Is Up.” That was the year when I started to make music and perform as a DJ.

What’s your favorite piece of music production gear or software? 

One midi/piano and one software, no matter what it is, just to write the music.

What’s your favorite part of the music production process? 

When I hit the melody that I have in mind, and I can see how the track is gonna end up.

Any future projects coming we should know about?

After my current album, my future projects will have some collaboration with other DJs and singers!
