Where do you call home? 

La Mirada, California.

What is the significance of your artist name?

Dayna Madison is real name! (laughs) Luckily, my parents gave me a great name!

How do you describe your musical style? 

My musical style is just as diverse as I am. As much as my voice can be soft and melodic, it can also be powerful and captivating. I use those parts of my voice to shift through genres like R&B, pop, dance music, Afrobeats, and several other genres. 

What first inspired you to get into music? 

I’ve always wanted to get into music, but I never knew where/how to start. I saw artists that I looked up to as a kid and knew that was something I would do in my future. Watching people dance and sing on stage gave me so much fulfillment. 

Is there an artist or person who has inspired you most? 

I’ve been inspired by the greatest entertainers to have ever lived…Josephine Baker, Eartha Kitt, Prince, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Usher, Victoria Monét, and many more.

What’s your favorite piece of music production gear or software? 

Personally, I love Pro Tools. Every time my team and I make magic in the studio, that’s what we’re using! 

What’s your favorite part of the music production process? 

My favorite part is getting in the booth and stretching my voice to do things it hasn’t done before. I love stepping out of my comfort zone and collaborating with whoever is in the room. 

Any projects we should know about? 

Aside from my new single “Light A Fire” that just dropped, I have a few collaborations that I’m excited to share! Hopefully, I’ll be able to share those soon!
