As a record pool dedicated to the DJ community, BPM Supreme is excited to help celebrate the 12th annual Record Store Day. On Saturday, April 13, music enthusiasts all across the U.S. and in the UK are invited to support and participate in the culture of the classic vinyl record store.
Similar to how searching for digital music has become a pastime for BPM Supreme DJs, “crate digging” was a daily routine for DJs in record shops back in the ‘70s and ‘80s. For DJs today, finding a gem in a stack of vinyl is like finding a hidden treasure.
Record Store Day was founded in 2008 and is sponsored by major record labels and music companies such as Sony Music, Crosley Turntables, D’Addario, and Republic Records. This year there are plenty of special releases to track down from artists like Pearl Jam, Erykah Badu, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Check out a full list of this year’s special releases here.
You can be a part of Record Store Day by visiting a local participating shop. Find a participating store near you and take advantage of special promotions, deals, and fun events happening in your town.
