Meet one of the driving forces behind the BPM Create online sample library, Judd. He handles merchandising, sample pack creation, and front-end quality control for the BPM Create platform. Based in the San Fernando Valley area in Los Angeles, Judd has been producing music for just over nine years.
“I’ve been able to accomplish some amazing things through music, but the most rewarding thing to me is someone telling me that my song inspired or helped them in a positive way. If my songs can affect someone like that, then I’ve already achieved my ultimate goal in music.”
Judd comes from a background of playing in local bands and house shows, as well as DJing electronic music at LA clubs and venues under the moniker “Slowpalace.” His music taste encompasses a range of genres from electronic to indie to metal. Nothing is off the table, and this is reflected in the music released under Slowpalace.

“If I’m not making music or hanging out with my girlfriend or family, I’m probably skateboarding. It’s one of my favorite things to do. Four to five days out of the week, I’ll have a skate session. It’s a great way to challenge myself and have fun at the same time.
“Unless I’m skating with a friend, I prefer skating in my backyard since I can blast music through my speaker and go at my own pace without getting distracted or worrying if I’m going to get kicked out of a spot. I also have a parking block and curb in my backyard that I skate for hours and hours. It’s so much fun.”
“My current obsession is endlessly tweaking my skateboard setup to make it perfect. In skating, this is referred to as ‘the madness.’ Basically, the skater equivalent of gear acquisition syndrome that many producers have. There are so many specifications and dimensions to tweak such as deck width, truck height, wheel size, and wheelbase. Right now, I’m experimenting with a very short 13.75” wheelbase and a new dipped Alien Workshop symmetrical twin-tip deck. I had to do orange because it’s almost Halloween.”
