The world’s largest community for fans of sampled music, cover songs and remixes, WhoSampled, has released a brand new feature on their app for iOS and Android. Users now have access to unlimited song recognition (similar to Shazam) that lets you discover a song’s entire DNA, including the full track ID, samples, cover history, remixes, and more.
Previously, the app only had the ability to scan your personal music library for information. Now you identify music that is playing around you by activating the app within listening range of a song you want to learn more about.
Created out of a passion for music history and production, WhoSampled is the most comprehensive, detailed, and accurate database of samples, cover songs and remixes. The app regularly costs $3.99 USD and adding the unlimited song recognition feature is just $9.99 for an entire year.
These days you can’t turn on the radio without hearing a sample. Kanye West’s newest album, ye, is solid proof that using samples opens up a wealth of creative possibilities.
