The first official Denon DJ and Numark Workshop took place yesterday at the BPM Supreme headquarters in San Diego, CA. Special guest and Serato DJ, Mr. Sonny James treated the audience to a live 30-minute set packed with soulful house, electronic and hip-hop beats. Denon DJ product specialist, Ben Abstrakt, led the workshop and demonstrated the powerful Denon DJ Prime Series set up and the Numark NS6II DJ Controller.
To get started, we got a closer look at the world’s first DJ player capable of on-board music file analysis, the SC5000. The complete set up requires no computer at all – just insert your drive, pick a track, and the SC5000 will quickly and accurately analyze beatgrids, musical key and BPM within seconds. The centerpiece is the X1800 Prime 4-channel DJ club mixer with multi-themed effects for each channel that give you tons of performance options. You can also enhance your music organization and import tracks from Serato with the Engine Prime software.
Next, Ben took us through Numark’s 4-Channel Serato DJ Controller, the NS6II. With features like dual USB outputs and built-in hi-res screens, this mid-range controller a great option for DJs at any level. Watch our recent review and full unboxing of the NS6II here.
Attendees had a chance to gets hands on with the Denon DJ and Numark gear later on. Check out photos from the event in the gallery below. To see more and watch Mr. Sonny James’ DJ set, head over to BPM Supreme’s Facebook page.
