DMC DJ Battle winners from all over the globe will head to London on October 7 to compete for the coveted 2018 DMC World Champion title. This year, for the first time in its 33-year history, the competition won’t just be limited to the professionals, however. A brand new portablism competition, Portablist DMC, has been revealed that will allow event attendees and DJs of all skill levels to compete in front of a number of legendary DJs in the game.
The Portablist DMC competition will take place throughout the day at KOKO in Camden, London. While there are still more details to come, it has been announced that selected finalists will get to perform on the main stage (!) and be judged by past World Champs. This new event not only promises a great opportunity for new DJs to show off their skills, but also a chance at taking home a unique signed Numark PT01 Turntable.
In addition to the Portablist DMC competition, attendees can also look forward to hands-on workshops with 4x DMC World Champ, Mr Switch and 2012 DMC Online Champion, Fong Fong.
Sponsored by Rane, the DMC DJ Battles are the longest running and most prestigious DJ battles in the world. At last year’s competition, DJ Rena of Japan became the youngest DMC World Champion at just 12 years old.
