Recap: BPM Supreme at the 2018 Cen Cal Slap Summit
Share

Over 100 established and emerging artists, DJs, labels, producers, taste-makers, and brands came together for the 5th annual Cen Cal Slap Summit in Fresno, CA this past week. BPM Supreme’s in-house expert and artist relations manager, Raj Thomas, attended the event and came back with some great feedback. Keep reading to see what he had to say about the 2018 Slap Summit:

“Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Cen Cal Slap Summit. I had never been to Fresno, so I didn’t quite know what it was going to be like. I was surprised to find such an incredibly well-attended grassroots event!

The place was full of local and non-local DJs, industry professionals, artists from independent labels, and even major labels. They were there to showcase brand new tracks and music videos, as well as check out live performances and do plenty of networking.

Not too long ago I had the pleasure of meeting DJ Kay Rich, the guy behind this event. As a night show host on Fresno’s B95 FM, DJ Kay Rich has helped to launch numerous artists’ careers, including Sage the Gemini, Ty Dolla$ign, Kehlani, and Alessia Cara. He’s also had a hand in fueling the growth of independent label and powerhouse, Empire Distribution.

With that being said, I quickly realized this would be a cool event to get BPM Supreme involved with. The Fresno and Central California DJ community was there in full effect! It was great to see how DJs and artists come together to network and learn from each other.

We saw the debut of Kenneth Paige’s new Ride The Wave video, and he also previewed a track with NBA star, Lonzo Ball, which he produced. During the track, he FaceTimed Lonzo himself to interact with the crowd as we enjoyed the new track!

Recording artists, Prezi and Darrein Safron performed and gave us a sneak peak of the new Fat Joe track featuring Dre, Pick It UP. Some other artists in attendance included Tashawn Stewart, TNO, YB Williams, Sham1016, Prince Sole, Abrina, DJ SN1, Arin Ray, and Lazr.
